U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recalls 5.6m dehumidifiers sold at retail

 The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced two separate, nationwide recalls of 5.6 million brand-name dehumidifiers sold at retail due to safety concerns, according to a special report by Aprilaire. The recalls are a result of hundreds of units bursting into flames, causing $24 million in damages.
