Crescent Parts & Equipment Company Wins Big Man on Planet Award!
The Thermostat Recycling Corporation (TRC) has awarded Crescent Parts & Equipment Company the title of Big Man on Planet (BMOP) for winning the Tier Two group of the 2014 competition for recycling thermostats containing mercury. The Tier Two group consists of distributors nationwide with 11 to 40 locations. TRC reported there were over 1,000 locations nationwide participating in the 2014 BMOP competition which ran between May 1st and October 31st and yielded a total of 55,912 mercury thermostats recycled.
While Crescent accepts mercury thermostat year round, an extra incentive was offered to customers to return mercury thermostats during the competition period. Customers earned an entry into a raffle for every mercury thermostat returned and four lucky customers won a 42” LCD TV. As a result, Crescent returned a total of 2,878 mercury thermostat during the competition period.
Although Crescent Parts & Equipment Company was awarded the BMOP title, the true winners are their customers. Without their support and efforts Crescent could not have won the competition. Everyone at Crescent would like to thank our customers for their support and effort to keep mercury thermostats from contaminating the environment.
